We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (CPG) to ensure the successful deployment of our Laminar technology deployment pilots in the Food and Beverage sector. This role is deeply customer-facing, with the majority of time spent embedded at customer sites driving execution, adoption, and satisfaction. You'll be the trusted partner to the customer champion, ensuring pilots are completed on time and signed off with confidence.
When not with customers, you will strengthen your product expertise with our core teams and work closely with sales to identify and support expansion opportunities. In a nutshell, this role requires technical applications engineering knowledge, sales engineering enthusiasm and project management mindset.
What You Will Do
  • Deliver technology overviews, resolve customer queries, and support sales by leading technical discussions with customer teams.
  • Guide process engineers on product use, insights, results, and best practices for hardware installation in Food and Beverage plants.
  • Collaborate with IT/OT teams on network integration (IP setup, PLC, DMZ, Cloud connectivity).
  • Advise quality teams on validation methods, sample size, and testing timelines.
  • Drive SAT certificate signoff with positive customer testimonials.
  • Travel up to 50%
  • Initiate expansion opportunities across pipelines, facilities, and geographies with sales involvement.
  • Provide post-implementation support as needed to ensure ongoing success.

About You
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Factory floor experience of at least 1 year in manufacturing sectors such as chemicals, food & beverage, brewing, dairy, or pharmaceuticals
  • Skilled communicator and presenter, confident leading discussions with customer stakeholders and creating compelling data visualizations.
  • Possess a startup mindset - adaptable, hands-on, and focused on delivering meaningful impact.
  • Background in process engineering, industrial automation, Industry 4.0, and IT/OT systems.
  • Ability to analyze data, with hands-on experience working with sensor and time-series data.

$82,000 - $101,000 a year
Our pay ranges are established per Pave Compensation Software. Our Interview Process
1. Phone screen with Laminar Head of Ops or Recruiter (15-20 minutes)
2. Intro call with Hiring Manager (30 minutes)
3. On-site interview, including short tour of GTL, overview of tech, and interview/presentation with the Hiring Manager and a few team members. Depending on the role, a skills exercise that should take no longer than an hour to prep, would be sent ahead of time. We record your skills exercise to share with any team members who could not join the interview and/or with Founder's ahead of their Founder's Interview. If you are not local, we can conduct this virtually.
4. Finalists for Full-Time positions will have a Founder's Interview in-person
