OPPORTUNITY:We are a folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Sturgis, MI team. We're recruiting for multiple positions so be sure you review all of our job postings. This job posting is for aPacker-Feeder.

PAY RATE:$18.72/HR

PLUS, SHIFT PREMIUM:$0.50 - 0.75/HR

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts.This is a 2ndShift position. Candidate will receive training on 1stshift. Must be willing and able to work weekends and overtime as required.

Job Summary:

Performs a wide variety of duties associated with the finishing process, by feeding or packing folding cartons on/off a machine fed line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide training for new Associates in the process.
  2. Inform the Glue Operators of any problems occurring on the line.
  3. Inform the Glue Operators when running short on supplies.
  4. Assist with clearing jam ups occurring on machine fed lines.
  5. Consult job ticket for proper packing instructions prior to starting a new job/shift.
  6. Capable of lifting 40 lbs.
  7. Backup other Associates on machine fed lines as needed to keep production going.
  8. Communicate instructions to other Associates/shifts.
  9. Participate in any tasks necessary to allow for continuous operation of the process.
  10. Follow all Plant Safety rules and maintain a safe working environment.
  11. Monitor the level of quality in the products being produced.
  12. Comply with the Consolidated Standards for Inspection – Food Contact Manufacturing Facilities through AIB International.
  13. Additional Responsibilities:

    1. Collect Statistical Process Control (SPC) Data as required.
    2. Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Activities as required.

    Qualifications:

    Basic math, reading and writing skills are required to perform this job.
