Job description

Packager

As a Packager, you will play a vital role in the final stages of our food production process, specifically in packaging and bagging our finished products. Working within a food production environment, you will be required to adhere to strict hygiene standards, including wearing a full gown and hair net, and avoiding any items that could contaminate food. You'll be responsible for packaging tortillas for major companies across the United States, working in a fast-paced environment where temperatures can reach up to 100 degrees. You will be on your feet for the entirety of your shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and rotating between various duties including stacking boxes and communicating equipment errors to machine operators.

Responsibilities
  • Package and bag finished products at the end of the production line.
  • Rotate between duties such as stacking boxes on pallets and bagging products.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Stand for the entire shift and communicate equipment errors.
  • Ensure proper packaging and quantity of tortillas.
  • Verify code date legibility and accuracy.
  • Inspect seals and set aside packages that do not meet quality standards.
  • Prepare boxes, ensure printers are operating properly, and seal product boxes.
  • Palletize products, ensuring correct configuration and orientation.
  • Wrap pallets with stretch wrap and transport to the warehouse.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in packaging and production environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
  • Comfortable working in high-temperature environments up to 100 degrees.
  • Comfortable with fast-paced work settings.
  • Proficiency in computer operations for data entry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.15 - $18.15/hr.
