We are seeking a dependable, team-oriented Sous Chef / Cook II who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for clients and staff.


Position Summary

The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Chef Manager with daily kitchen operations and preparing meals for residential clients at Dunwoody Behavioral Healthcare. This role ensures meals are prepared safely, served on schedule, and aligned with dietary requirements and nutritional standards.

The ideal candidate has strong culinary skills, understands food safety regulations, and enjoys working in a collaborative healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and client-specific restrictions
  • Follow all Board of Health requirements and State of Georgia food safety regulations
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage temperatures, sanitation, and waste control procedures
  • Assist with menu planning and ensure all menus are approved by the organization’s dietician
  • Prepare bag lunches, dinners, snacks, and breakfast items
  • Maintain stocked and organized kitchen and food storage areas
  • Monitor inventory and assist with purchasing and supply ordering
  • Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Support compliance with Certified Food Manager standards
  • Ensure client coach staff obtain Food Handler Certifications
  • Maintain accurate portion sizes and nutrition standards for all meals
  • Post updated menus for clients regularly

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous culinary or food service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, nutrition, and dietary modifications
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment preferred
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-based setting
  • Certified Food Manager credential preferred or willingness to obtain
