Job description

Summary:
This part-time position provides support as a member of the Culinary amp; Events team. This position is trained in all aspects of the kitchen including line cook, food prep, and event food. This position is highly skilled and experienced and could also be responsible for assisting Managers in training other employees. Focuses include frozen food preparation and packaging, grab and go food preparation and packaging, event and café menu preparation and execution. This position coordinates with the Bistro amp; Culinary Manager.
Essential functions:
  • Cuts, prepares and packages a variety of foods to be frozen
  • Maintain expected stock levels of frozen foods in stores and backstock
  • Date products and continually monitor refrigerator/freezers for product freshness
  • Receive and process in ingredients and supplies
  • Communicate effectively about needed ingredients to sustain expected food production
  • Execute and give feedback on new recipes and menu options
  • Ensures timely and proficient food preparation to meet customer demand
  • Work the POS system to help customers with culinary purchases in the café as needed
  • Assist in events by setting up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance
  • Maintains and ensures the maintenance of a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Adhere to all applicable laws when serving alcohol
  • Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Maintain positive and professional attitude
  • Arrive to work appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
Physical demands:
  • Stand/walk/on feet 6-8 hours of an 8-hour shift
  • Must be able to lift 35lbs
