Job description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician! The QA Tech will assist the Quality Assurance Manager in implementing the company's quality programs and maintain quality records in a food-manufacturing environment. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible to report any food safety or quality issue to supervisor or upper management with the ability to initiate action.

Shift: Monday through Friday  1ST Shift 3:00AM - 11:30 AM 

Pay: DOE $18/hr. - $19/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform process and plant audits.
  • Maintain quality records.
  • Perform required analysis.
  • Maintain lab in a cleaned and organized condition.
  • Interact with Sanitation, Sales, Warehouse, Distribution and Production personnel to meet company's requirements and specifications.
  • Inspect incoming materials and ingredients for manufacturing.
  • Assist in solving customer service requests.
  • Supervise GMP's and personnel personal habits and hygiene.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds or more and weigh ingredients in the DIP Room

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years in a food manufacturing environment in a technical capacity.
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience highly preferred.
  • Completed Food Safety training.
  • Technical degree is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual Preferred (Spanish/English).

Skills and abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to do multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills in Excel, Word and other as required.
  • Knowledge on GMP's requirements
  • Lab testing moisture, salt, pH and other testing requirements
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
  • Sanitation inspections and audits
  • FDA, USDA and County health regulations
  • Reliable.

This position is contingent upon clearing a 7yr criminal background check & drug screen.
