We are seeking an enthusiastic and friendly Floor Manager to join our team and contribute to creating a positive and inviting atmosphere. As a Floor Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the floor in both Alberta Street Coffee and Forbidden Fruit, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, delivering outstanding customer service, and oversee managing the staff.


Job Description:

As a Floor Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that every customer leaves with a smile. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and assisting in food service, making coffee and specialty drinks, handling transactions, maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization, and leading the team to do the same. You will work closely with your team to foster a friendly and engaging environment that reflects our commitment to quality and community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Warmly greet and welcome guests, ensuring a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
  • Menu Knowledge: Acquire a deep understanding of our food and drink menu, including ingredients and preparation techniques to provide informed recommendations to guests.
  • Barista: Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages, maintaining precision and creativity in every drink.
  • Order Taking: Accurately take and input food and beverage orders, ensuring timeliness and attention to detail.
  • Food & Drink Presentation: Serve food and beverages with a keen eye for presentation, showcasing the quality and artistry of our culinary offerings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and communication.
  • Overseeing Staff: Ensure staff is staying on task, keeping up with side work, and doing their jobs properly.
  • Payment Processing: Accurately handle payments, issue receipts, and ensure a seamless checkout experience.
  • Lead by Example: Maintain a calm, commanding presence during high-volume shifts to keep the team grounded.
  • Overseeing AM Events: Help oversee morning breakfast and lunch events.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Previous management or leadership experience in a coffee shop, counter service, or restaurant required.
  • Must hold an active Food Handlers and Alcohol Certification
  • Passion for food, beverages, and hospitality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
