Job description

CULTIVATE A BETTER WORLD

Food served fast does not have to be a typical fast-food experience. Chipotle has always done things differently, both in and out of our restaurants. We are changing the face of fast food, starting conversations, and directly supporting efforts to shift the future of farming and food. We hope you will join us as we continue to learn, evolve, and shape what comes next on our mission to make better food accessible to everyone.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Senior Analyst, Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Data & Solutions, you will help Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) turn food safety information and everyday business processes into practical analytics and decision-support solutions that help Chipotle identify, understand, and reduce food safety risk. This is a hands-on individual contributor role that combines data analysis, business problem-solving, process improvement, and solution building. You will partner with FSQA stakeholders to identify analytics needs and collaborate with Data & Analytics (DI&A) to define business requirements for the data pipelines and data models that support reporting, dashboards, and other decision-support solutions. Using approved company technology, you will build and improve reports, dashboards, workflows, and other decision-support tools. Enterprise technology teams provide the technical implementation, governance, security, and platform support.

This is not a traditional product manager or software developer role. This role does not own or administer enterprise data platforms. Instead, it serves as the primary analytics partner for FSQA, working with business stakeholders to define needs while partnering with DI&A and enterprise technology teams to deliver solutions within established governance. Prior experience in food safety, artificial intelligence, or any specific technology platform is not required.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Serve as a data and solutions partner for FSQA, balancing recurring reporting and analysis with the hands-on development of practical tools that improve how the team works.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and other technology teams to define business and data requirements, support data modeling, and ensure solutions use reliable data, connect appropriately, protect access, and meet company standards before launch.
  • Collaborate with FSQA stakeholders to identify analytical needs and translate them into business and data requirements that enable DI&A to develop and maintain supporting data pipelines and models for dashboards, reporting, and analytical solutions.
  • Conduct recurring and ad hoc analyses, identify trends and root causes, and develop actionable recommendations for FSQA teams, senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and the Food Safety Advisory Council.
  • Use approved analytics and technology tools, including AI-assisted capabilities where appropriate, to create, test, and improve reports, dashboards, workflows, business applications, and decision-support tools, including low-code/no-code data models where appropriate.
  • Bring together and analyze information from different internal and external sources to provide a clearer view of food safety risk and answer complex business questions.
  •  Work with stakeholders to clearly define the problem, intended user, decision to be supported, business rules, desired outcome, and a useful first version; support FSQA leadership in setting priorities.
  • Turn selected business needs into process maps, clear requirements, early versions of solutions, test scenarios, implementation documentation, and user guidance.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and other technology teams to define business and data requirements, support data modeling and the integration of new data sources into enterprise data pipelines, make sure solutions use reliable data, connect appropriately, protect access, and meet company standards before launch.
  • Define and monitor measures of food safety performance, data quality, solution effectiveness, user adoption, and business impact.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work, and provide responsible self-service tools; explain complex data and technology topics in clear business terms and help users adopt new solutions.
  • Comfort working with databases and different types of data. SQL experience is helpful, but advanced programming experience is not required. Success in this role is driven by the ability to understand business processes, define analytical requirements, and collaborate effectively with business and technology partners.
  • Commitment to data quality, documentation, security, governance, and responsible use of AI-assisted tools. Experience connecting information across systems, defining business requirements, building reporting solutions or workflows, or working in food safety, quality, restaurant operations, supply chain, or another regulated environment is preferred but not required.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university required.
  • 5-7 years’ hands-on data experience in data management and analysis.
  • Proven ability to compile and analyze large amounts of multi-faceted data, sourced from multiple platforms, and create insightful and meaningful information to drive sound business decisions.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, tableau, Alteryx or other data visualization or task platforms.
  • Fundamental understanding of databases; Snowflake, Salesforce Service Cloud, Service now and/or semi-structured data strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with immediate teams,  senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and presenting cross-functionally and bringing organizational silos together.
  • Strong and effective presentation skills with a senior leadership audience.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $99,000.00–$138,000.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education. Chipotle offers a competitive total rewards package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, sick leave, vacation time, and much more.
