TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE!

The Virginia Beach Field House is Virginia’s premier indoor sports facility. With over 175,000 square feet, we offer leagues, camps, clinics, and tournaments for youth and adults in soccer, flag football, volleyball, basketball, arena (indoor) baseball and softball, field hockey, lacrosse, dodge ball, sand volleyball, sand flag football, sand soccer and other social sports. We also host birthday and team parties, corporate events, and other organized activities. The Virginia Beach Field House has 6 turf fields, 8 regulation volleyball courts, 4 basketball courts, 8 sand volleyball courts, 2 sand fields, multiple party rooms, an arcade, and an indoor Fun Zone. Guests are encouraged to visit our fully stocked food court and lounge. In addition, we proudly carry several beers on tap and by the bottle for those patrons over 21 years of age who enjoy adult beverages. We have full locker rooms with day lockers and showers. For entertainment we have over 40 flat screen TV’s throughout the building, and four 110’ giant screen TV’s in our lounge. For the best indoor sports - TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE!

The Virginia Beach Field House is currently accepting applications for Lil' Flyers Coach. The Lil’ Flyers Coach is responsible for teaching and supervising youth development cheerleading classes of up to 12 students per class. The Lil’ Flyers Coach reports directly to the Youth Development Director and Youth Program Director.

The coach is the primary point-of-contact for students and parents and is expected to deliver excellent customer service. Not only will the coach spend time with new students and parents to orient them to the program, but also greet and converse with all participants before and/or after each class. In addition to being able to answer questions related to the Lil’ Kickers program, the coach is expected to have a detailed knowledge of the facility and other programs which may be applicable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General skills and knowledge of cheerleading
  • Set up and take down instructional equipment before and after each class

  • Supervise children and ensure the playing/performance area is safe for all participants

  • Work irregular shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Maintain current qualifications in accordance with the Lil Kickers program standards

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Youth Development Director, Youth Program Director and/or the General Manager

Requirements
  • Desire to work with children 4 to 12 years of age

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • High energy and enthusiasm throughout all classes

  • Demonstrated leadership capability, preferably with target age group(s)

  • Strong time-management skills to ensure all goals of each class are met

  • Commitment to work the same hour(s) each day for 10-13 consecutive weeks

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: No formal or informal education is required. Experience working with groups of children is highly desirable.

Language Skills: Ability to communicate course objectives and performance feedback to students and parents in English. Other language skills are desirable.

Computer Skills: Use of a windows-based workstation to access web-based instructional materials is required.
