Description

King Retail Solutions manufactures interior signage, decor and fixtures for retail spaces using a variety of materials including wood, metal and plastic. The Build Shop Production Team Lead is an integral part of our factory team.   

They direct the activities of assigned workers in each work center allocated by the Production Supervisor. They provide guidance and direction to the team in regard to safety and performance and communicate concerns and issues to the Production Supervisor. They also provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and departments by telephone, in written form, email, or in person.

The Build Shop Production Team Lead works onsite, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm with flexibility for extended hours and/or occasional Saturdays as production needs dictate.

Position Summary:Direct the activities of assigned workers in the work center allocated by the Production Supervisor. Provide guidance and direction to the team regarding safety and performance, and communicate concerns and issues to the Production Supervisor. Provide information to the supervisor, co-workers, and other departments via telephone, email, written form, or in person.Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Work closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure that production demands are fulfilled by required due dates, and proactively provide data to the supervisor if production delays are anticipated. Analyze and/or troubleshoot production methods to determine best practices. Direct team activities and establish task priorities within the team based on the schedule provided by the supervisor. Assist the Production Supervisor in the planning and development of new production processes to increase efficiency. Plan and establish work center flows to meet production demands. Coordinate and optimize changeovers to minimize downtime and ensure all workers are set up with the proper tools and materials needed for each job. Support the development of training materials and methods. Provide training according to skill level; monitor and provide technical support to team members. Provide factual and timely information on all aspects and status of assigned jobs. Complete job tracking paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Report job discrepancies on the job tracking form and to the Production Supervisor. Adhere to company and department policies, including the handling of confidential matters. Actively audit the work center to ensure all team members are wearing PPE and following safe equipment operating procedures (safety guards, LOTO, etc.) Perform initial troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions and partner with the Maintenance department to escalate repairs quickly. Maintain a safe work environment and keep the area neat and orderly, ensuring materials and tools are organized for efficient space utilization and minimized handling. Set a positive example for other team members to follow regarding employee morale in the work area. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.Skills & Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills. Time and project management skills. Proven ability to direct labor and materials within an assigned work center. Ability to work independently, follow directions, and understand and interpret technical drawings, details, and written instructions. Proven ability to accurately maintain and report the status of production jobs to the supervisor. Previous accountability for maintaining and improving production efficiencies. Demonstrated technical knowledge of production reporting software and department-specific equipment. Strong mechanical or technical aptitude to diagnose minor machine or material issues on the fly. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like 5S or root-cause analysis. Proven ability to promote teamwork and a cooperative work environment. Strong attention to detail and adherence to KRS quality standards.Requirements:High School Diploma or GED equivalent; prior technical skills in a related field; two to three years of experience directing activities within a production process.Language Ability:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
