All About You
We are looking for experienced machine operators to work within our cell assembly areas. These technicians will be responsible for a variety of tasks, to include operating machines using programmable logic controls, and utilizing a range of calibrated tools. Our technicians in this area have a hand in creating of battery cells, which will power products for the space, defense and racing industries. Technicians will work one of three shifts - first, second or third. All shifts are eight hours in length.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional schooling or training in a technical field is preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably running machinery
  • Basic computer skills with some proficiency with Excel and database usage
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and to clearly document and record the results of the work that you perform
  • Proven experience running complex machinery and producing products of high quality
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain an organized workstation to optimize product flow to feed downstream stations
  • Ability to install materials and setup machine(s) utilizing precise settings such as speed, tension, power and various other criteria
  • Possess a keen eye for detail and be able to notice small variances in processes and materials that may affect final product quality
  • Communicate clearly and accurately to describe in detail any machine or product issues that may have occurred and possess the ability to communicate this information to all levels of personnel
  • Reliable, trustworthy and able to work either independently or as part of a team
  • Problem solving skills that permit diagnosing and correcting of issues that may occur during machine operation
    Ability and willingness to rapidly learn and understand the tasks assigned
  • Must be available to work overtime as schedules occasional require

Working Conditions
  • PPE requirements include safety glasses, steel toed shoes and full body gowns
  • Work environment will be in a dry room where cooled and low humidity air is constantly present
  • This position will require standing for most of each day
  • This position requires working in an environment where strong magnets and chemicals are present
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities
  • Work in an environment where adhering to safety policies and procedures is required as well as consistently utilizing safe work practices
  • Set up, operate and maintain production equipment, machines and tools using process documents, diagrams, and written instructions
  • Operate winding, welding, punching and stacking equipment and become proficient in each machine's operations
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition utilizing 6S standards while following all safety requirements
  • Inspect machine outputs using precision measurement tools to include, calipers, micrometers, meters and vision systems
  • Follow instructions per process specs while manufacturing materials for use in high power cells and batteries
    Possess the desire and aptitude to become proficient in operating additional complex machinery
