Job description

MFM Limited Partnership, a Mikisew Group company, is seeking an experienced and professional Automotive Service Technician/HVAC to join our team.


We are offering a $500.00 employee referral bonus for this position. Please refer to competition ID# MG-2026-003


The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems on mine support equipment (i.e. shovels, dozers, haul trucks, etc.). This will involve troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, repairing or replacing parts, and performing routine maintenance to ensure the systems are functioning efficiently and effectively.


Schedule: 14 on, 14 off, 11.50 hours per day. Work is conducted under an Hours of Work Averaging Arrangement (HWAA) - formerly known as Compressed Work Week.

Work Location: Position will be based at the Kearl Lake facility, located North of Fort McMurray, AB. This is a field position.

This is a Fly In/Fly Out opportunity with camp/accommodations provided. Flights provided from the hub centers of Edmonton, AB and/or Calgary, AB with direct flights to site. Workers are responsible for travel to/from the travel hubs and their residence.
Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Automotive Service Technician (AST) or HET
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience servicing and repairing HVAC systems on mine support equipment, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems and components
  • First Aid Certification required
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license and have a clean driving record


Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems on mine support equipment (i.e. D-11, 797, Shovels, etc.)
  • Replace or repair defective parts and components
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal functioning of HVAC systems
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of service reports
