AltaGas - Shift Supervisor, RIPET

AltaGas is seeking a Shift Supervisor, Terminal Operations to lead and support safe, reliable, and efficient terminal and vessel loading operations. Reporting to the Superintendent, Terminal Operations, this role provides hands-on leadership to a shift team while ensuring operational procedures, safety standards, and customer requirements are consistently met.

The successful candidate will be a leader in the field, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, integrity, inclusion, and learning. This role is ideal for an experienced operations professional who enjoys leading teams, driving operational excellence, and making a direct impact on facility performance.

This position is located in Prince Rupert, BC and is fly-in, fly-out position working a 7 days/7 Night/14 off rotation.


You Will:

Support and demonstrate personal Safety leadership in accordance with Altagas's Environment Health and Safety Program
Adhere to all Altagas Policies, Standards, Procedures and Practices during the execution of operational activities.
As part of the management team will have a strong understanding, participate, and support the union/collective agreement. Abiding by and following the protocols that pertain to the collective agreement for the supervision of the workforce.
Responsible for achieving operations performance of rail car offloading, LPG refrigeration process and VLGC vessel loading. Will be a consistent field presence for rail car connection/disconnection and all aspects of vessel loading and ensure ergonomic best practices are used.
Ensure that equipment is being properly maintained and accountable to ensure routine on shift maintenance is completed. Will confirm all additional found work has work orders entered in the Maximo system for repair.
Lead team development of equipment lock-out/tag out and ensure equipment is properly isolated and for maintenance activities.
Support MOC and Project development and execution as required.
Accountable for the team on shift performance and performance management of the team.
Ensure the facility housekeeping standards are met
Manage the vacation and time off requests and ensure staffing at appropriate levels to achieve rail offloading and vessel loading targets.
Develop, implement, and execute operation procedures and support the development of Operational plans with the Operations Coordinator.
Review rail schedules and planned yard movement of rail cars between holding tracking and unloading racks.
Document, track and optimize rail and vessel operations to support improved logistics.
Lead the reporting of incidents, incident initial investigation and support the analysis of all incidents and take corrective measures.
In alignment with the Superintendent and directed by the Operations Coordinator will plan, monitor, and execute the training and progression of Operations staff to ensure all employees are competent in their role. Support the development and continuous improvement of the training program.
Support the direct operation of the facility when required.

You Have:

High School Diploma/GED required
5+ Years in Gas Plant or Terminal Operation, with proven leadership abilities as demonstrated by your ability to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the work of a multi-disciplinary team engaged in the operation and maintenance of the facility is required. Minimum of 2 years' operating in control room operations with preference with Delta V but experience on another operating system will be accepted. required
Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering: Will be required to obtain Rail Training certificate required
Passion and commitment to the training and development of the team
Proficiency in use of windows-based applications.
Strong, professional verbal and written communication skills
Exposure to EHS management systems, PSM systems such as Maximo and Intelex, will be considered an asset.
Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills and ability to make quick and effective decisions.
Performs well in team but can also work independently and with minimal direction

Compensation:

This position offers a base salary range of $134,000 to $140,000 annually, based on experience, education, and skills. AltaGas also provides a competitive relocation allowance and a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off starting on day one.
