Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Pipefitters with Fusing experience to join our team for a temporary assignment at a remote fly-in camp in Nunavut. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems for Dewatering System and additional support equipment, including process piping for mining operations. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and safety of piping infrastructure, supporting both day-to-day operations and emergency repairs in a challenging remote environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair piping systems for primarily stationary plant infrastructure.
  • Perform welding, fitting, and assembly of piping components according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on piping systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Support maintenance activities for mining and processing facilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve piping and mechanical issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used.
  • Follow all safety protocols and promote a safety-first work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Red Seal certification as a Pipefitter.
  • Proven experience in industrial piping installation, maintenance, and repair, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong understanding of piping codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote, cold, and challenging environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Licensing & Certifications:

  • Certified Journeyperson or Interprovincial Red Seal Certification in Pipefitting.
  • Additional certifications such as Confined Space, CPR/First Aid are assets.
