These electricians typically work on a roster system, flying in for a set period (such as two weeks) and then flying home for a break. FIFO electricians are essential for keeping remote operations running safely and efficiently.

During their on-site shifts, they usually stay in employer-provided accommodations, which range from single rooms to shared facilities. The work environment is typically remote and can be physically demanding, with long shifts and adherence to strict safety protocols. Teamwork is essential, as electricians collaborate closely with other trades, supervisors, and safety personnel to ensure smooth operations.
