About the Role At Advanced Space, we're enabling humanity's return to the Moon and building the technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond. We're looking for a Contracts Specialist to support the contracts and business operations behind some of the most ambitious space missions in the industry. In this role, you'll support pre-award contracting activities, including proposal support, teaming agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and subcontract development. You'll work closely with Business Development, Finance, program managers, and technical teams to interpret solicitations, identify contractual risks, and ensure proposals and agreements are competitive, compliant, and aligned with mission objectives. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to grow their government contracting expertise, and excited to contribute directly to missions that are advancing lunar exploration, national security, and commercial space capabilities. This position is open to U.S. Citizens or lawful permanent residents only. Visa sponsorship is not available. If you're passionate about solving challenging problems and seeing your work fly in space, you'll fit right in. What You'll Actually Do Support contracts and proposal execution. Draft, review, and support negotiation of teaming agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and subcontracts that enable successful proposal submissions and protect Advanced Space's interests. Translate requirements into compliant solutions. Analyze government solicitations, including RFPs, BAAs, SBIRs, and OTAs, to identify contractual requirements, compliance obligations, and risk considerations. Develop compliance matrices and support proposal teams in creating competitive responses. Manage contract risk and documentation. Identify contractual, financial, schedule, and compliance risks while supporting risk mitigation strategies. Maintain accurate records of agreements, modifications, renewals, and key contract milestones. Partner across the organization. Collaborate with Business Development, Finance, technical teams, and program leadership to communicate contract requirements, support proposal activities, and ensure agreements align with company goals. Improve contracts processes. Help strengthen contracts operations by maintaining templates, checklists, workflows, and best practices. Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability as Advanced Space continues to grow. Who Thrives Here * You have 1-2 years of experience in contracts, subcontracts, procurement, legal operations, business operations, or a related field. * You have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Legal Studies, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience). * You have foundational knowledge of government contracting concepts, including FAR, DFARS, and/or NASA requirements. * You have experience reviewing or drafting agreements such as NDAs, teaming agreements, or basic subcontracts. * You are comfortable interpreting solicitations and identifying compliance requirements, risks, and contractual obligations. * You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can clearly explain contract topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * You are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced proposal environment. * You demonstrate strong judgment, integrity, and a commitment to ethical business practices. * You take ownership. When you see a challenge, you work with the team to solve it.
