Apprentice High Purity Pipefitter (Semiconductor / Cleanroom)
Overview:
CAM Industrial Solutions, a leader in industrial services and one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in Canada and the United States, is seeking an Apprentice High Purity Pipefitter to support semiconductor and clean manufacturing projects.

Position Summary:
The Apprentice High Purity Pipefitter supports the installation, fabrication, testing, and commissioning of ultra-high-purity (UHP) piping systems used in semiconductor manufacturing operations. Working under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Pipefitter or Foreman, this role assists with high-purity stainless steel and fluoropolymer piping systems while adhering to cleanroom, safety, and quality requirements. This position is classified under applicable prevailing wage requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
High Purity Piping Support
  • Assist Journeyman Pipefitters with installation of high-purity process piping systems, including stainless steel tubing and fluoropolymer piping (PFA, PVDF, PP).
  • Support tubing layout, measuring, cutting, deburring, cleaning, fit-up, and assembly per approved drawings and specifications.
  • Assist with preparation for orbital welding, mechanical joints, and specialty fittings.
  • Help install valves, regulators, filters, and specialty gas or chemical delivery components.

Cleanroom & Quality Compliance
  • Comply with cleanroom protocols, gowning procedures, and contamination-control requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools, materials, and work areas at all times.
  • Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, and system turnover documentation.
  • Follow approved isometrics, P&IDs, and construction drawings.

Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all project safety requirements including OSHA regulations, PPE use, LOTO, hazardous materials handling, and site-specific rules.
  • Participate in daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with project access requirements, training certifications, and audits.

Apprenticeship Development
  • Perform work consistent with apprentice skill level and classification.
  • Complete required apprenticeship classroom instruction and on-the-job training hours.
  • Learn high-purity installation standards, cleanliness requirements, and quality control procedures specific to semiconductor environments.

Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in or acceptance to a state-approved or federally recognized Pipefitting Apprenticeship Program.
  • Ability to work under direct supervision and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to meet project access requirements, including background checks and drug screening.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom environments for extended periods.
  • Prior experience on semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or clean manufacturing projects is an asset.
  • Exposure to high-purity stainless steel tubing or plastic piping systems is preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform overhead work.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and on lifts or scaffolding.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and cleanroom gowning for extended periods.
  • Work may be performed in cleanrooms, sub-fab areas, industrial facilities, and fabrication shops.
