Job description

MATRIX Camps, Logistics & Aviation is seeking experienced Night Bakers for rotational positions at remote camp locations across Canada. This role is ideal for a reliable, selfmotivated baking professional who is comfortable working independently overnight while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety. Night Bakers play a key role in preparing fresh baked goods for daily service, managing tasks efficiently, and following HACCP and inventory procedures. • Prepare buffet breakfasts, daily specials, and scratchmade baked goods and desserts with consistency and care
  • Work closely with the First Cook to support menu planning, grocery ordering, receiving supplies, organizing inventory, and following FIFO rotation
  • Follow food safety standards every day, including HACCP documentation, allergen labeling, proper storage, safe cooling, and keeping the kitchen clean
  • Help keep the kitchen safe and running smoothly by attending meetings, supporting inspections, reporting concerns, helping train staff, and being a strong team player

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience working in a highvolume kitchen, baking, or catering environment; remote camp experience is an asset
  • Valid Food Safe Handling and WHMIS certificates; culinary diploma or formal baking/pastry training preferred
  • Strong organizational, problemsolving, and communication skills with basic computer knowledge
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain a high level of performance during 10-12 hour shifts
  • Dependable, motivated team member who is comfortable working rotating schedules and independently during night shifts
