Job description

FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: To provide support of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. To enhance and maintain the system by analyzing, designing, estimating, developing, documenting, testing and implementing required changes. To act as a direct liaison with user, technical support, training and operations personnel. To provide technical and administrative support to the department. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis. 
The Application Engineer II will serve as a hands-on technical resource responsible for assisting customers in selecting and adopting the appropriate AI technology stack for their needs. This role will support custom AI development within Azure services by helping design, implement, and maintain application-level components that integrate with Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, ML model endpoints, and related platform resources. Additionally, this role will contribute to the overall service management of AI by participating in troubleshooting, operational governance, and lifecycle management of AI workloads. 
Responsibilities: 
1. Develops, tests and deploys applications for the enterprise and the public. 
2. Customer engagement working to develop innovative solutions that add business
3. Maintains a focus on requirements gathering and documentation. 
4. Mentors and guides junior developers or student employees 
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
(Annual Salary:  $77,640 - $126,170)
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with .NET / C# (ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework) Experience with Microsoft Azure services (App Service, Functions, Storage, Azure DevOps, etc.) Experience with Microsoft AI Foundry or similar services. Experience with React for web Experience with React Native or another cross-platform mobile framework (Flutter, MAUI) Familiarity with mobile development concepts (platform lifecycle, native modules, device APIs) Experience with CI/CD pipelines Experience with relational databases (SQL Server) Experience with containerization (Docker).
