Job description

Life in Newaygo has its own rhythm-slower than the city, steadier, and built on values that run deep. As a Machine Operator, you'll keep that pulse alive by supporting CNC operators and engineers in a shop where precision matters and teamwork carries weight. Whether you're running a mill, honing parts, or making sure tools are sharp and ready, the work you do here connects directly to a bigger purpose: building hydraulics that power industries around the world. Not bad for a place where your commute is short, the cost of living is lower, and your name means something.
This facility has been part of the community for decades, combining global reach with small-town grit. Every product that leaves Newaygo carries a bit of both-craftsmanship rooted in tradition and performance trusted worldwide.
Each day, you'll operate manual mills and lathes, handle honing cycles, support production re-works, maintain the shop with 5S standards, help CNC operators with low-volume parts, and keep machines healthy with coolant changes, chip cleanups, and tool sharpening. You'll also jump on the forklift when needed, estimate time on jobs, and step in where the team needs you most.
What We Offer
  • $17/hour for 1st shift (6 am-3:30 pm)
  • $19/hour for 2nd shift (3:30 pm-12 am)
  • Weekly pay
  • $1 raise upon successful hire-in
  • Referral bonus program: $100 for every friend you refer, plus an extra $25 when they refer someone to WSI
  • Potential for permanent hire based on performance

Qualifications
  • 0-3 years of machine shop experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T
  • Must be able to speak, write, and read basic English
  • Strong work ethic-organized and self-starting
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for long stretches, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with hydraulic fluid and temperature changes

Think you'd thrive in a place where your skills count and your neighbors know your name? Newaygo is calling-step up and show us what you can do.
