Job description

We are seeking an Attorney to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Attorney to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations. As an Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to our organization on a variety of legal matters. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as managing legal risks. You will also be responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents/contracts, and representing the organization in legal proceedings. Your work will have a significant impact on the success of our organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Must have active license to practice law in Florida and be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on health care law
  • Strong knowledge of health care laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a large health care organization
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations
  • Experience with health care compliance programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on a wide range of issues including contracts, compliance, litigation, and regulatory matters.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support case preparation and decision-making.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop case strategies and ensure clear communication throughout the legal process.
  • Stay current with changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or the organization.
  • Manage case files, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely completion of legal tasks.
