Job description

Floret is building an AI-enabled system of record for CPG brands.

Retailers and distributors send brands millions of dollars in deductions every year. Most companies still manage this process through spreadsheets, email threads, and disconnected systems. Floret automates the entire workflow, ingesting retailer data, categorizing deductions, and syncing clean financial records to ERPs such as NetSuite and QuickBooks.

We're a small, profitable SaaS company serving some of the fastest-growing brands in food and beverage. Our product sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and sales, and we're building the first truly modern platform for this category.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who can take broad ownership across the Floret platform. You'll work across the full stack, from backend systems that process financial data to the frontend interfaces customers use every day, and you'll have a meaningful voice in how we build and evolve our systems.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You'll own features end-to-end, contribute to architectural decisions, and help raise the technical bar across the team.

What You'll Do

Build and own features across the stack

  • Design and build backend systems for data ingestion, processing, and reconciliation
  • Build APIs and services that power core workflows
  • Build frontend interfaces for financial workflows, dashboards, and 3rd party integrations

Drive system quality and architecture

  • Contribute to architectural decisions on both the backend and frontend
  • Improve reliability, performance, and observability across the system
  • Establish patterns and practices that hold up as the team and codebase grow

Work with complex financial data

  • Build systems that handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data
  • Implement matching, reconciliation, and categorization logic
  • Keep financial records accurate and auditable

Ship AI-powered features

  • Build and integrate systems that automate categorization and help users resolve deductions
  • Apply sound judgment about where AI adds value versus where it introduces risk

Collaborate across product and engineering

  • Partner with product and design to turn ideas into scalable implementations
  • Contribute to code review and technical decision-making
  • Work directly with customers to understand problems and iterate on solutions
What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Track record of shipping production features end-to-end on real products
  • Has made meaningful technical decisions and owned their outcomes
  • Background in SaaS or data-heavy products preferred

Technical skills

  • Strong backend experience: APIs, data modeling, system design
  • Strong frontend experience: modern JS frameworks (Vue preferred), component architecture, state management
  • Solid testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end
  • Comfortable working with messy, high-volume real-world data

Product mindset

  • Builds for users, not just specs
  • Can simplify complex systems into usable products
  • Makes sound tradeoffs under time pressure and with incomplete information

We're especially interested in engineers who actively use AI coding tools as part of how they work and who have used them to ship better or faster.

Bonus Points
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite
  • Background in document parsing or OCR data normalization
  • Shipped AI-native features to production
  • Experience with forecasting, demand planning, or promotion analytics, particularly modeling promotion lift or building systems that help brands understand trade performance
