Definition
The City of Missouri City, known as the "Show Me City," is actively seeking an experienced Right of Way Technician to join the Urban Forestry Division of the Parks and Recreation Department.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, preservation, and beautification of the City's rights-of-way, helping to enhance the community's appearance and ensure safe, attractive public spaces for residents and visitors. This position plays a vital role in supporting the City's commitment to maintaining a clean, vibrant, and welcoming environment
Examples of Work
  • Operates and conducts routine maintenance of forestry and landscaping equipment; including but not limited to: chainsaws, weed trimmers, blowers, spray and water tankers, and City vehicles.
  • Maintains and monitors City-owned right of ways, landscape areas and urban forest areas; including but not limited to: clearing obstacles and debris, weed and pest control, planting, pruning, mulching, pressure washing, painting, and irrigation system repairs.

  • Assists with special projects, programs, and events as needed.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Subject to 24-hour recall, including weather related incidents and emergency operations.

Education, Experience, or Certification
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) months of professional experience in landscaping, maintenance, arboriculture, or construction.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
