Job description

Merchandiser & Driver - Floral Retail

Location: Indianapolis, IN, USA

Salary: 45,000-50,000 per year

Position Overview:

Falcon Farms is looking for a Driver – Merchandiser to help deliver, care for, merchandise, and sell fresh-cut floral bouquets at multiple retail locations in the specified area. This role covers routes to deliver products and merchandise flowers at assigned locations. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships with store managers, representing the Falcon Farms brand with confidence, and maintaining floral displays that drive sales.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

Delivery & Route Management:

  • Operate a company-provided vehicle to cover multiple assigned retail locations safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload vans with floral products, ensuring safe handling throughout the route.
  • Manage time across multi-stop routes.

In-Store Merchandising:

  • Set up and maintain floral displays in accordance with Falcon Farms' Picture of Success merchandising standards.
  • Replenish product as needed to ensure continuous availability and full display coverage.
  • Groom and rotate floral product during every store visit to maintain peak freshness and quality.
  • Complete inventory counts and credit documentation on each visit.

Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Management:

  • Proactively engage with store managers and department leads in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Build and maintain positive, trust-based working relationships with each assigned store team.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each location's nuances: peak sales hours, top-selling products, and evolving store needs.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and sales support to floral shoppers on the floor.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Document every store visit with detailed notes and photos using the merchandising mobile application.
  • Send a photo of each completed display to the direct supervisor upon finishing each location.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols when operating vehicles and handling equipment.

Required Skills:

Education & Licensing:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid U.S.-issued Driver's License with a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and any subsequent required testing.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent customer service orientation with natural people skills.
  • Ability to represent Falcon Farms professionally and proactively in a retail environment.

Operational & Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with smartphones
  • Strong time management skills; comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow a consistent schedule and manage multiple stops across a daily route.
  • Availability to work during peak floral season.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 lbs. on an ongoing basis throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable bending, stooping, and lifting products above shoulder height.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout each shift.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per day).
