A Note from the Hiring Manager

This is not a “stand around and arrange flowers all day” kind of role.

We’re looking for someone who loves flowers, yes—but also loves the work that comes with them. The early mornings, the buckets, the mess, the details, the doing. Someone who takes pride in creating something beautiful—but also in cleaning it up, organizing it, and making it better the next time.

At Farmgirl, we’re all in. We schlep, we hustle, we figure things out, and we care deeply about what we put into the world. If you see something that needs to be done and just do it—without waiting to be asked—you’ll fit right in.

If you’re looking for a quiet, precious floral job where you make a few arrangements and call it a day—this isn’t that. But if you’re excited to be part of a team that really cares about the work and takes pride in doing it well, this could be a great fit.

About the Role

You’ll be a core part of our product and creative team—designing for our everyday product lineup, marketing shoots, special projects, and everything in between.

You’ll work closely with our Director of Product to bring new designs to life, keep our offerings consistent, and evolve our aesthetic in a way that still feels unmistakably Farmgirl.

This role goes well beyond design. You’ll be involved in sourcing, inventory, product builds, and making sure what we design can actually be executed consistently—and profitably—at scale.

Some days you’ll be designing. Some days you’ll be processing flowers, organizing the cooler, sourcing product, driving to pick things up, or helping prep for a shoot or event.

No ego. No “that’s not my job.” Just good work.

There’s also real opportunity here. As you prove yourself, there’s room to take on more ownership and grow your role—we’re a small team, and strong operators naturally grow with us.

What You’ll Do
  • Design floral arrangements for our core product lineup, seasonal launches, and special collections

  • Create designs and help to style shoots for marketing shoots, campaigns, press needs, and events

  • Turn designs into clear, repeatable “recipes” (stem counts, varieties, substitutions) so they can be executed consistently across our network

  • Work with product and operations teams to source and procure flowers and hard goods—and learn how we balance quality, availability, and cost

  • Design with an understanding of pricing and margins—we’re not just making beautiful things, we’re running a business

  • Receive, process, and care for flowers to ensure quality and longevity

  • Keep the workspace clean, organized, and running well (this really matters to us)

  • Help manage inventory, track usage, and stay ahead of what we need before we run out

  • Assist with photoshoots, on-site installs, and event execution as needed

  • Travel for key holidays (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.), events, and press opportunities

  • Drive to farms, markets, or vendors as needed to source and transport product

  • Jump in to support broader farm and operations work when needed

What We’re Looking For
  • At least 3–5 years of professional floral design experience at a high-end shop or with a studio florist

  • A design aesthetic that aligns with Farmgirl’s style—natural, thoughtful, and not overdone

  • A strong, disciplined eye for color—someone who gravitates toward cohesive, tonal palettes rather than high-contrast or overly busy combinations

  • You have strong taste and know the difference between “pretty” and truly well-designed

  • Deep knowledge of flower care, handling, and seasonality

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail—nothing slips through the cracks

  • Someone who naturally keeps a clean, tidy, and well-run workspace

  • Strong computer skills and comfort with day-to-day tools (Microsoft Office, Gmail, Slack, Asana, etc.)—you’re able to stay organized, communicate clearly, and keep things moving without needing to be chased down

  • Comfortable receiving direct feedback and using it to get better quickly

  • A positive, team-first attitude—no drama, no ego

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment

  • Able to lift buckets, stand for long periods, and work early mornings when needed

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving as part of the role

  • Flexible and willing to do whatever needs to get done

  • Able and willing to travel as needed

Bonus Points (Not Required, But Nice)
  • Experience working directly with farms or sourcing flowers

  • Experience designing for photoshoots, campaigns, or events

  • Familiarity with inventory or product systems

  • Experience working in ecommerce or high-volume production environments

A Few Things to Be Clear About
  • This is an in-person role in Gig Harbor, WA. There are no exceptions. Please do not apply if you are not close to or willing and able to move (soon) to Gig Harbor, WA.

  • This is a hands-on role. You’ll be on your feet, working with your hands, lifting boxes and buckets, scrubbing buckets and other manual duties regularly.

  • The work can be fast-paced and demanding—especially around major floral holidays.

  • We care deeply about the details, the product, and the experience we create for our customers—and we expect the same from you.

How to Apply

If this sounds like something you’d love to do, please send us your resume, a bit about why you want this role, and a portfolio of your floral work (required to be considered).

We know AI is writing a lot of cover letters these days (which is fine), but we’re looking to understand your real “why” and get a sense of your taste and point of view.

Benefits

Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage are also available for employees. Employees can enroll in our Flexible Spending Accounts program and the company’s 401(k) plan, which includes a company match. Fringe benefits are available for this role. Lastly, this role is subject to our paid time off/sick policy and will receive ten (10) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
