Walt Churchill’s Market is looking for a Part-Time Floral Clerk for our Perrysburg, OH location.

Job Summary:

The Floral Clerk, under the direction of the Produce Manager and Assistant Produce Manager, ensures the floral displays are well-stocked and clean at all times. When on the sales floor, the Floral Clerk provides excellent service to our customers by greeting them and eagerly answering their questions. The Floral Clerk is expected to work 4 days per week, including 1 weekend day.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Order, process, price and display floral bouquets
  • Order, price, and display indoor potted plants throughout store
  • Perform daily maintenance on plant displays
  • Assist with production of fruit and gift baskets
  • Order seasonal/holiday indoor and outdoor plants and flowers
  • Water and maintain outdoor floral displays, ensuring coverage for those duties on days off
  • Ensure Floral displays are well-stocked, fronted, and fresh at all times
  • Accurately stock and rotate newly received Floral items
  • Energetically greet and interact with customers
  • Assist in maintaining clean display areas, including sweeping, mopping, dishes, trash, etc.
  • Communicate and record shrink
  • Maintain general product knowledge for the department
  • Additional duties may be assigned

Schedule:

Morning and afternoon availability including weekends.

Requirements:

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and thoroughness in all aspects of the position
  • Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers
  • Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school education, required
  • Related degree, preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of plants and flowers
  • Experience with plants and flowers in a retail setting, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Frequent instances of pushing, pulling, and squatting
  • Must have the ability to move product by pushing/pulling carts and using manual/electric pallet jacks
  • Must be able to lift 10-30 pounds frequently
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
