Job description

Salary:

Zenlayer is expanding its edge cloud and global interconnection footprint across the Americas. The Sr. Project Manager, Data Center Fitting-Out, will lead end-to-end delivery of Zenlayers new Points of Presence (PoPs), small to mid-size data hall build-outs, and infrastructure upgrades across partner and colocation facilities.


This role oversees planning, design coordination, procurement support, construction and installation activities, equipment deployment, testing, and final handover. The PM ensures each site meets Zenlayers technical, operational, and reliability standards while delivering projects on time, within budget, and at the highest quality.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead full lifecycle management of data center fitting-out and PoP build projects across the Americas.
  • Develop project execution plans (scope, schedule, budget, risks, QA/QC, logistics).
  • Maintain project documentation, reports, and dashboards for regional and global leadership.
  • Coordinate with global engineering teams on design packages, rack layouts, structured cabling, power distribution, and cooling requirements.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and site clarifications with contractors and vendors.
  • Work with Zenlayers global supply chain team to procure long-lead equipment (racks, PDUs, fiber panels, cabling, network gear, power components).
  • Monitor vendor manufacturing timelines, FAT schedules, and international logistics.
  • Oversee contractors during construction, electrical / mechanical integration, and ICT installation.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, Zenlayer specifications, and colocation provider guidelines.
  • Lead testing & commissioning of power systems, cooling integration, rack deployment, structured cabling, and network equipment readiness.
  • Deliver complete handover packages: as-built drawings, O&M manuals, inventory lists, test reports.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 510 years of project management experience in, Data center fitting-out / build-out,PoP builds, network infrastructure deployment,Telecom, colocation, or mission-critical environments
  • Experience delivering multiple concurrent projects across the Americas strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of MEP interfaces in data center environments.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling, fiber systems, rack deployment, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, ICT integration, and reliability standards.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Jira, Asana).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, floor plans, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication skills across distributed global teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional coordination abilities.
  • Able to manage multiple sites and priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Willingness to travel 3050% within the Americas for site visits, inspections, logistics checks, and vendor meetings.
