Job description

Now Hiring: Appliance & Cabinet Installation Apprentice
Fort Lauderdale, FL | Full-Time, 40 hrs/week | Starts at $20/hour
www.thekitchenworks.com

Get paid to learn a trade you'll use for life.

The Kitchenworks is South Florida's destination for luxury kitchens, fine cabinetry, and premium appliances. We're hiring an apprentice to learn this craft from the ground up—delivering and installing the finest products on the market (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Miele, Gaggenau, Thermador, Dacor) into some of the region's most prestigious homes. You'll work side-by-side with our Lead Installer and Logistics Manager and learn by doing, every single day. No experience required.

Let's be straight about the work. This is physical. You'll be on your feet all day, lifting and maneuvering heavy appliances, often in the heat. You'll drive to job sites and work in homes where the client expects perfection and a single scratch is a real problem. It's demanding—and if that sounds like exactly the kind of work you want, where you finish each day knowing you built something real, keep reading.

Where this leads. This is an apprenticeship. As you build skill, your pay grows and your responsibility grows with it—our experienced installers and crew leads earn well above starting wage. The people who treat this as a craft, not just a paycheck, build a long, respected career here.

What you'll learn:

  • Safely receiving, handling, and moving premium appliances
  • Reading cabinetry floor plans and job-site elevations
  • Field delivery and installation of high-end appliances
  • The basics of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical
  • Assisting with field cabinet installations
  • Warehouse organization, logistics, and job-site prep

This is right for you if you:

  • Want to learn and will do it our way—we have a process that protects $40k appliances and discerning clients, and the apprentices who lean into it go furthest
  • Check your ego at the door: no job is beneath you, and feedback makes you better, not defensive
  • Care about making the client happy, every time
  • Show up on time, ready to work, and look for the next task instead of waiting to be told

Requirements:

  • Able to repeatedly lift and move 50+ lbs and work on your feet for a full day (we teach proper technique—the strength has to be there)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to/from work (company vehicle used during work hours)
  • Ability to safely drive and operate a small sprinter van and small sprinter box truck.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; any trade background (carpentry, electrical, plumbing) is a plus

What we offer:

  • $20/hour to start, with raises as your skills grow
  • Paid, hands-on training
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Life insurance; short- and long-term disability
  • PTO and 9 paid holidays
  • Employee discounts and a real path for long-term growth

To apply: Send your resume and answer one question: Tell us about a time someone showed you a better way to do something you thought you already knew—and what you did about it. Prior installation experience or trade references are a plus.
