Job description

Job Title: Restaurant Floor Manager
Job Type: Full-time, seasonal and year-round
The Stray Dog Bar & Grill is looking for a passionate and experienced Restaurant Floor Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, hardworking, and ready to lead by a positive example. Pay is commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Provide a warm welcome and ensure each guest in your assigned section of the restaurant receives prompt, outstanding service.
  • Reconcile any guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Be familiar with and reinforce company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Help recruit, train, and monitor performance of team members according to company policies and procedures, providing correction and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Supervise a busy floor and lead team members by example to promote a positive, upbeat work environment.
  • Follow cash-handling and reconciliation procedures of the restaurant.
  • Delegate tasks to team members in cleaning and organizing the restaurant, including dining areas, service stations, front of house, and employee areas.
  • Perform opening and closing tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Bridge communication between front of house and back of house team members and provide assistance to Kitchen Managers and General Managers where needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • At least 2 years of restaurant management experience.
  • Availability during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong skills in communication, organization, leadership, and kindness.
  • Proficient in food and beverage safety and service techniques.
  • Ability to supervise employees effectively and ensure positive guest experiences.
  • Cash-handling skills and knowledge of POS Systems (Squirrel preferred).
