Cowlitz Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to be the heartbeat of our healthcare team! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside compassionate professionals, provide essential support, and help create a welcoming environment for our patients.


The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider. Assists Physician/ARNP or RN with direct patient care. Under direction and supervision by medical professional staff: administer injections, room patients, take vitals, record chief complaints, and assist with minor surgeries/procedures with a medical provider. The Medical Assistant interacts regularly with patients, coworkers, and various other people on a day-to-day basis within the medical clinic and displays a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.



Wage Range: $23.00 - $24.77 Per Hour.

Schedule: Monday Through Thursday, 8:00am - 7:00pm

FTE: 1.0

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements


  • Must possess a valid unrestricted WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
  • BLS/CPR certification required upon hire
  • High school diploma plus successful completion of a minimum of one academic year of post-secondary education in a medical assisting program from an accredited educational institution. Associates degree in medical assisting and/or certified medical assistant preferred.

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 1-4 years of previous work experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
  • Proficient in medical terminology and medical office procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn in-house programs, including EHR system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Must be a confident, self-directed individual who can work within a team as well as independently.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, utilizing concise and comprehensive documentation with strong technical writing and record-keeping skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
