About the Role

The Senior Floating Maintenance Technician provides skilled, proactive maintenance and repair support across multiple Fairfield Residential communities within within the Houston, TX market. This role specifically will work a second shift schedule from 11:00am to 8:00pm to assist with after hours emergency calls or work orders. This dynamic role is ideal for an experienced technician who thrives on variety, enjoys working independently, and excels at handling diverse tasks such as HVAC repair, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting.

With regular local travel supported by an auto allowance, you'll play a key role in maintaining our communities' exceptional standards, while ensuring resident satisfaction and property excellence. HVAC certification, driver's license, reliable transportation and a proven track record in multifamily maintenance required; bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

This is a 'second shift' opportunity with later scheduled working hours (11:00am - 8:00pm)

What You'll Do

Routine and Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance repairs, and HVAC repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • General maintenance and cleaning of grounds.

Service Requests

  • Efficiently complete assigned service requests, prioritizing based on urgency and community needs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and inventory tracking.

Unit Preparation

  • Prepare units promptly and effectively for new residents.

Safety Standards

  • Adhere strictly to safety standards.

What You'll Need

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • HVAC certification required (Type II or EPA Universal)
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification strongly preferred; must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license required

  • 3-5+ years multifamily or residential maintenance experience

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).
