Job description

Coastal1 is looking to hire an Assistant Branch Manager Floater! This position will cover branches located throughout Northern Rhode Island.

A Floating Assistant Branch Manager will ensure the efficient daily operation and management of the Branch they are stationed in. As a member-facing employee, ABMs must have a passion for developing member relationships while providing knowledgeable, courteous service. The ABM plays a key role advising members and potential members on all types of consumer and commercial accounts and assists them in making appropriate selections, opening new accounts, originating loan/equity requests as needed. This way our members can bank smarter! In addition, ABMs must set leadership examples to branch employees and assist in career building conversations and trainings to lead their employees and their branch to success.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cash handling experience
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred

Job Responsibilities

  1. Advise members and potential members on all types of consumer and commercial accounts and assist them in making appropriate selections, open new accounts, originate loan/equity requests as needed.
  2. Manage daily operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  3. Utilize opportunities to cross-sell all products and services and to promote Coastal1 programs in a positive manner.
  4. Ability to meet required sales goals on a consistent basis.
  5. Originate new accounts, process all documentation with the new accounts as well as loan origination, forward to correct back-office function.
  6. Ensure staff compliance with Coastal1's Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Policy (BSA) and related procedures, Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) screening and record keeping requirements, including reviewing and monitoring staff compliance with BSA/MIP/OFAC related procedures.
  7. Maintain a high level of knowledge about Coastal1’s products and services, and ensure that all staff members are kept up to date with new offerings, changes, etc.
  8. Provide operational support in the day-to-day running of the Branch, including opening, settlement, and closing procedures, facilities management, and proof and reconciliation procedures as required.
  9. Support Branch manager in supervising staff, in ensuring adequate job training takes place, and that staff interaction with members is prompt, courteous, and of the highest professional caliber.
  10. Interact daily with other departments (Retail Lending, Real Estate Lending, Member Services, etc.) for prompt resolution of member problems and issues.
  11. Originate and underwrite Retail loan applications within limits of lending authority, and ensure applications are submitted promptly to Branch Manager, Branch Administration, or Retail Lending Department.
  12. Originate real estate mortgage referral process and ensure these are submitted promptly to Real Estate Lending Department.
  13. Perform other duties as required.
