Job description

Maintains and repairs electrical systems and components in accordance with technical data requirements. Performs tasks under minimum supervision. Coordinates maintenance activities with senior Electrical shop personnel as required.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Performs routine maintenance of T-6 and T-38 electrical systems.
2. Operates ground support equipment.
3. Isolates faults in order to correct electrical system discrepancies.
4. Makes necessary repairs, replaces assemblies and makes adjustments as indicated doing the troubleshooting phase.
5. Open/remove and close/install all aircraft panels, excluding those panels requiring Command and Response, and related system components to include T-38 windscreens to perform specialist maintenance.
6. Complies with the requirements of the FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.
7. Completes all necessary manual and automated records required by USAF and Company directives.
8. Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives a1required.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.


CLASSIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS


Knowledge - A working knowledge of aircraft electrical systems and of the use of schematic diagrams, drawings and charts is required. A working knowledge of technical publications, maintenance directives and maintenance forms is required.


Education - Completion of high school or the equivalent is required. Completion of specialized courses is desired. The ability to read and write and to comprehend technical data is required.


Experience - A minimum of two (2) years' experience as an aircraft electrician is required.


Special Conditions - Must be able to lift a minimum weight of 50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods of time, and have the ability to climb ladders and stairs. Normal color vision is required. Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges.
