Northrop Grumman's Corporate Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking aSystems Engineer to support the Office of the Chief Engineer's IT Solutions team. The selected candidate will work on a highimpact systemsengineering effort that will deliver secure, modern IT infrastructure for a governmentgrade customer and will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL campus - this is NOT a remote work opportunity.

As an IT Systems Engineer (T02) you will support as a core technical contributor within the Systems Engineering and Architecture team. Operating under the direction of the Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO), this role advances the design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of enterprise IT infrastructure across Aerospace programs.

If selected you will work under the guidance of senior engineers and the Systems Engineering & Architecture IPT (Integrated Product Team).You will assist in designing, integrating, testing, and documenting the program's IT baseline, while gaining exposure to the full systemsengineering lifecycle (concept sustainment) and to tools such as DOORS, MBSE suites, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering & Architecture

  • Support development and delivery of the IT technical baseline and system design across all lifecycle phases.

  • Assist in delivering the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and executing SE processes and controls.

  • Apply MBSE methodologies using tools such as Cameo or Orbus; maintain requirements traceability in DOORS or RTM.

Infrastructure Design

  • Design scalable, redundant, and highly available IT solutions for on-premises, co-location, and cloud environments.

  • Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and COTS software products.

  • Support VDI solution development and deployment (Nutanix, VMware Horizon).

Operations & Sustainment

  • Ensure all systems have current backups and documented disaster recovery procedures.

  • Maintain documentation for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, switches, and telephony equipment.

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve networking, authentication, and application issues.

Program & Stakeholder Support

  • Interface with project managers, architects, technical specialists, and customer representatives.

  • Support IPT leadership: scheduling, status reporting, and meeting coordination.

  • Participate in program reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR - prepare and present technical materials.

  • Communicate technical content effectively - written and verbal - to internal and customer teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline OR Masters degree.

  • Candidates must have a current U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (or higher) in order to be considered.

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.

  • 2-5 years in IT Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture, or related field.

  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, or OT/manufacturing IT environments.

  • Working knowledge of NIST, CMMC 2.0, DFARS, and applicable DoD IT standards.

  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) and VDI platforms (VMware Horizon).

  • Familiarity with on-premises and co-location designs, including redundancy, high availability, and backup/DR.

  • Hands-on exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP (IaaS/PaaS); experience with cost optimization of cloud resources.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, and network design in classified/unclassified environments.

  • MBSE Tools - Familiarity with Cameo, Orbus, or equivalent model-based systems engineering platforms.

  • Requirements Management - Experience with DOORS or requirements traceability matrix (RTM) tools.

  • Test & Verification - Ability to develop, execute, and document test plans with full requirements traceability.

  • Program Review Support - Experience contributing to SRR, PDR, CDR, SVR, or TRR artifacts.

  • Digital Transformation - Experience digitizing workflows, deploying interactive dashboards, or centralizing production metrics.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
