As a Mechanical Project Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the success of Johnson Controls' Chiller Solutions business by partnering directly with customers and internal teams to bring complex HVAC solutions to life.

Based in our San Antonio production facility, you will be at the center of customer engagement-leading technical discussions, supporting solution development, and hosting hands-on testing and evaluation activities. From early-stage concept exploration through real-world validation, you'll help shape solutions that address some of the most demanding chiller and heat pump system challenges.

How you will do it

  • Partner closely with customers and internal teams every day-including SAT testing teams and field sales-to solve technical challenges, answer product questions, and optimize system performance.

  • Deliver expert application guidance and creative problem-solving, leveraging deep technical knowledge and competitor insights to turn customer needs into winning solutions.

  • Build smarter ways of working by developing tools, documentation, and automated resources that empower field sales teams and streamline responses to common inquiries.

  • Turn customer engagement into strategic insight-analyzing why JCI wins, what competitors are offering, and where the market is heading-then translating those learnings into white papers, sales tools, and actionable feedback for product management.

  • Support high-impact, complex projects by staying connected to the pipeline, providing proactive guidance to the field, and collaborating across application engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes.
