Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Flexographic Prep & Ink Technician to provide vital staging,
setup, and material preparation for our production press teams. In this role, you will lead ink
formulations, plate mounting, and roller preparation to ensure smooth, efficient job changeovers.
Your work directly minimizes machine downtime (makeready), maintains high print quality
standards, and drives overall manufacturing efficiency. If you have a strong mechanical
background, keen visual accuracy, and enjoy hands-on technical support in a fast-paced
environment, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to make an immediate impact.
Essential Job Functions
  • Precision-mount flexographic printing plates onto cylinders to ensure accurate register during printing.
  • Prepare, clean, and inspect anilox rollers before and after production runs.
  • Mount gears, handles, and hardware onto plate cylinders and anilox rollers.
  • Utilize anilox scopes to measure cell volume and assess roller condition for quality control.
  • Maintain inventory of molded plates, ordering replacements as needed to avoid production delays.
  • Inspect, prep, and coordinate the shipping of worn cylinders or rollers for off-site reconditioning.
  • Receive, stage, and distribute inks directly to press lines
  • Collaborate with press operators to streamline setup procedures and execute additional operational tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Key Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience or strong mechanical skills working with industrial tooling, machinery, or complex mechanical setups. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.
  • Outstanding visual accuracy and high attention to detail for precise color matching, viscosity testing, and plate mounting alignment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to shifting production needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to coordinate effectively across pressroom staff, inventory control, and management.
  • Ability to work productively both independently and in a collaborative team setting, taking initiative to solve problems and improve pressroom workflows.
  • Comfort working in an active manufacturing environment - including standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching on concrete floors throughout the shift.
  • Frequent manual lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of items weighing up to 35 lbs (such as ink buckets, chemical pails and plate cylinders).

Additional Information
This is a 3rd shift position, Monday through Friday from 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M., rotating Saturdays as needed, in a climate controlled environment.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $19.50 to $31.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
