Job Summary
This SLCC Campus Internship invites a student to work with faculty and staff in the English, Linguistics, and Writing Studies (ELWS) department to develop and sustain a vibrant social media presence for ELWS programs, and to create marketing and promotional materials for ELWS. The position will require the intern to work independently and as a part of a team to maintain a social media and promotion plan, to implement that plan, to assess its success, and make ongoing adjustments. The intern will be permitted to work remotely.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Completed ENGL 2010
  • Social Media Knowledge & Experience
  • Majoring in a communication field like Writing Studies, English Studies, or Communications OR
  • Established writing practice: the candidate will have their own writing practice (in any genre)
  • Creativity: Interested in solving problems in innovative ways
  • Self-motivation: Responsible and organized to get tasks done without daily supervision
  • Flexible Writing Skills: Ability to write effectively for different audiences in different contexts
  • Analytical Mind: Able to ask questions, see patterns, relationships, possibilities
  • Teamwork: Able to work with diverse people and perspectives
  • Initiative: Able to proactively engage with campus constituents and ELWS faculty to build content.
  • Willing to ask questions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
