Speech-Language Pathologist - SLPA Supervisor

The Arc of the Ozarks is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to provide clinical supervision and school-based support for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant during the 2026-2027 academic year.

The supervising SLP helps ensure that students receive consistent, clinically appropriate, and compliant speech-language services.
In this position, you will guide the SLPA's treatment delivery, oversee documentation and progress monitoring, conduct evaluations, and support the IEP process. Your leadership will help the SLPA succeed while allowing students, families, and school teams to receive responsive and dependable support.
What You'll Do
Virtual Supervision and Collaboration
  • Provide consistent virtual supervision of the SLPA's direct treatment services.
  • Review data collection, treatment documentation, progress notes, and other clinical records.
  • Meet with the SLPA each week to review student progress, clinical questions, documentation, and upcoming priorities.
  • Remain reasonably available to provide clinical guidance and support during scheduled service delivery.
  • Review and sign required SLPA documentation and verify monthly supervision logs. Student Services and Clinical Oversight
  • Complete the initial clinical contact, gather baseline information, and establish appropriate plans and goals before services are delegated to the SLPA.
  • Conduct and interpret speech-language evaluations.
  • Complete evaluation reports and other required documentation.
  • Develop and update IEP goals and speech-language service recommendations.
  • Review student progress reports and determine whether services or goals need to be adjusted.
  • Ensure that delegated responsibilities are appropriate for the SLPA's training, experience, and permitted scope of practice.
School Collaboration
  • Participate in IEP meetings virtually or in person as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, special education professionals, families, and other members of the student support team.
  • Travel to assigned Springfield-area school locations up to three days per month for evaluations, IEP meetings, direct observation, and school-team collaboration.
  • Complete documentation required by The Arc, participating schools, Missouri DESE, and applicable licensing standards. Schedule, Location, and Pay
  • This is a part-time position supporting the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • The position is primarily virtual and includes up to eight hours per week of:
  • Direct virtual supervision
  • Documentation and data review
  • Weekly collaboration with the SLPA
The supervising SLP must also be available to work on site at assigned Springfield-area school locations up to three days per month.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Missouri license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • At least [three years of experience as an ASHA-certified SLP OR approved revised experience requirement]
  • Completion of at least two hours of post-certification professional development in supervision or the ability to complete this requirement before beginning supervisory responsibilities
  • Ability to conduct evaluations, interpret results, develop goals, and complete school-based documentation
  • Ability to participate in virtual and in-person IEP meetings
  • Availability to travel to Springfield-area school locations up to three days per month
  • Strong organization, communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skillsPreferred Qualification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising an SLPA or other speech-language support personnel
  • Familiarity with Missouri special education requirements and school-based IEP processes
  • Experience collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
