Description
The Sewing Labs is seeking guest and volunteer instructors to support our growing lineup of community-based sewing and textile arts classes. This is an ongoing, as-needed (PRN) opportunity for individuals who are passionate about sharing their skills in a creative, inclusive environment.
We welcome instructors interested in leading one-time workshops, short-term series, or occasional classes based on their availability and expertise.
Areas of Interest Include:
  • Beginner to advanced sewing techniques
  • Garment construction and alterations
  • Quilting and fiber arts
  • Upcycling, mending, and sustainable fashion practices
  • Machine basics and maintenance
  • Specialty or creative textile workshops

Role Overview:
Instructors are responsible for planning and leading engaging, hands-on classes for adult learners of varying skill levels. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and building confidence in others through sewing.
Engagement Type:
  • PRN / as-needed scheduling
  • Mix of paid and volunteer opportunities, depending on class type and funding
  • Flexible commitment based on instructor availability and program needs
