Job Title: Maintenance Technician II – Mechanical & RoboticsJob Description

The Maintenance Technician II supports the Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging and distribution systems, and pneumatic systems in a high-volume fulfillment environment. This role combines hands-on mechanical and electrical work with troubleshooting automation and robotics, ensuring equipment reliability, uptime, and safety across the facility while mentoring junior technicians and contributing to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyor systems and related controls.
• Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in MHE systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to perform accurate repairs and installations.
• Apply electrical and electronic principles to identify, analyze, and resolve equipment problems.
• Conduct quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and maintain accurate records.
• Troubleshoot basic input and output functions related to building operations and equipment controls.
• Follow and demonstrate safety standards at all times, including adherence to MHE safety standards and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance and maintenance processes.
• Mentor junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and safe work habits.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations as needed.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime and support production goals.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of robotic systems and PLC-based control systems as required.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
• At least 2 years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
• At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• At least 2 years of knowledge and practical application of electrical and electronic principles.
• At least 2 years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing MHE systems.
• Experience troubleshooting basic input and output functions of building operations.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Hands-on experience with automation systems, control systems, and conveyor maintenance.
• Ability to move up to 49 lbs and stand and walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards.
• Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in the mechanical or electrical field.
• At least 2 years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
• At least 2 years of experience working with PLC-based control systems.
• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor junior technicians.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly automated environment.

Work Environment

This is a Contract position based out of Perris, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
