This role will serve as a technical authority responsible for the design, optimization, and support of enterprise storage solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
AS A NETAPP RESIDENT, YOU CAN EXPECT TO HAVE THESE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute storage and data migrations, including:
  • Environment assessments
  • Migration strategy development
  • Execution and validation
  • Rollback planning and risk mitigation
  • Provide architectural guidance and best practices for storage and data management solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and procedures
  • Act as a consultant to stakeholders by clearly explaining technical challenges, risks, and solutions

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU'LL NEED EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:
  • Extensive hands-on experience with NetApp storage solutions, particularly ONTAP
  • Strong expertise in NFS and CIFS/SMB protocols
  • Solid understanding of storage networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, data access protocols)
  • Proven experience in enterprise storage design, implementation, and support
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex storage and performance issues
  • Experience in planning and executing large-scale data/storage migrations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing role
  • Experience with hybrid or cloud-integrated NetApp solutions (e.g., Cloud Volumes, Azure NetApp Files, AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP)
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
  • NetApp certifications (e.g., NCDA, NCIE)

KEY SKILLS:
  • Storage architecture and design
  • NetApp ONTAP administration
  • Data migration and risk mitigation
  • Performance tuning and optimization
