Description
The Account Engineer is responsible for assessing and mitigating nuclear insurance risk by performing on-site and virtual inspections of insured facilities. This role bridges technical engineering expertise with business and financial considerations, ensuring accurate risk evaluations and strong client relationships.
The position involves conducting detailed risk assessments, producing professional reports, supporting industry initiatives, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. Engineers in this role serve as representatives in the field and must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and technical expertise.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering, health physics, materials science, physics, chemistry, computer science, or equivalent experience
• 2-5 years of experience in a related technical field
• Leadership or management experience in projects, programs, or functional areas
• Strong communication skills with proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to analyze technical data and assess risk
• Ability to act as a subject matter expert in at least one technical area
• Military experience such as Reactor Operator, Engineering Watch Supervisor, or propulsion plant watch supervisor highly valued
Requirements
• Perform on-site and virtual nuclear liability insurance risk assessments
• Produce detailed engineering reports based on inspection findings
• Maintain relationships with assigned accounts and serve as a technical liaison
