Job description

About Us:
Rent the Runway (RTR) is transforming the way we get dressed by pioneering the world's first Closet in the Cloud. Founded in 2009, RTR has disrupted the $2.4 trillion fashion industry by inspiring women with a more joyful, sustainable and financially-savvy way to feel their best every day. As the ultimate destination for circular fashion, the brand now offers infinite points of access to its shared closet via a fully customizable subscription to fashion, one-time rental or ownership. RTR offers designer apparel and accessories from hundreds of brand partners and has built in-house proprietary technology and a one-of-a-kind reverse logistics operation. RTR has been named to CNBC's "Disruptor 50" five times in ten years, and has been placed on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list multiple times.
About the Team:
Data is core to our growing business and has been ingrained in the company's DNA since its founding. As a member of the Data Analytics team, you will arm stakeholders with data to measure performance, insights, and drive continuous improvements across the company. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining RTR's core data models, defining and analyzing performance metrics, building reports, and enabling self-service report solutions. Data analytics is an important team within the RTR Customer organization.
About the Job:
We are looking for a Data Analyst to develop and manage crucial data models that describe our customers and business. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with business leaders across the organization. You will own the creation of rich reporting and data visualizations, enabling functional leaders to quickly digest information and make data-driven decisions. In collaboration, you will define KPIs and set attainable, stretch goals to drive continuous improvement. You will be a key contributor to the culture of the team, and you will have opportunities for growth and leadership as we expand.
What You'll Do:
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify, scope, and fill data visibility gaps.
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to ensure we collect the data required to support business objectives
  • Develop scalable, reusable, and well-documented data models that power dashboards, reports, and analysis across the organization
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to design, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data availability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Analyze key areas of the business to uncover opportunities for optimization, experimentation, and strategic improvements.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to influence decisions throughout RTR
  • Build, maintain, and monitor robust, user-friendly Looker dashboards and reports, ensuring stakeholders have access to up-to-date insights.
  • Promote and assimilate best practices across the Data Team, including data governance, performance optimization, and documentation.

About you:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with large, complex data sets.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics...); advanced degrees and/or specializations a plus.
  • Highly proficient in SQL, with the ability to write efficient, optimized queries for large-scale datasets.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Looker or Tableau to build dashboards and reports.
  • Experience with dimension modeling and data architecture, ensuring scalable and efficient data structures
  • Experience with DBT for transforming and managing data models
  • Experience with code management and deployment on Github a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to uncover insights and communicate findings effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, including business stakeholders, data engineers, and product teams.
  • Experience working with event data or user/product analytics tools (e.g., Heap) is a plus.
  • Passion for data and its fundamental ability to create value.
  • Extremely curious and excited to dive into complex problems.

Benefits:
At Rent the Runway, we're committed to the wellbeing of our employees, and aim to create a workplace that fosters both personal and professional growth. Our inclusive benefits include, but are not limited to:
  • Paid Time Off including vacation, paid bereavement, and family sick leave - every employee needs time to take care of themselves and their family.
