Job description

Corvid Technologies is seeking an engaging and team-oriented Explosive Safety Engineer to join our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team as a part of our growing manufacturing division. This critical addition to the team will work across the organization to identify, develop, implement, and maintain systems to ensure the company adheres to regulatory standards. This role will focus largely on OSHA, DoD, and ATF regulations related to storage, security, handling, transportation, and process hazards of explosive materials within the broad portfolio of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver with a strong commitment to fostering a safe and sustainable workplace culture; an individual who knows the regulations and possesses the experience to champion solutions.
Tasking and Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop, implement, and manage company-wide EHS programs, policies, and procedures - including records and required documentation associated with Process Safety Management (29 CFR 1910.119), Department of Defense Explosive Contractor Safety (DoD4145.26), ATF Federal Explosives Law (27 CFR 555), and Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR 171-180)
  • Design and deliver engaging training programs to educate employees and contractors on safety practices and regulatory requirements - encouraging a culture of safety
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and state/local safety and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including engineering, operations, and management - to integrate EHS considerations into all phases of project planning, new equipment requirements, material selections, and operations
  • Generate, lead, and document safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, process hazard analyses, explosive site safety plans, hazardous material shipping documentation including interim hazard classifications and bill of ladings, and corrective/preventative action plans

Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in an EHS, Science, or Engineering field (similar disciplines accepted) is required (experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Candidate must possess at least 10 years of relevant experience in an EHS role, demonstrating knowledge and application of DoD, ATF, OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal and state safety regulations
  • Proficiency with EHS management systems, regulatory reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Strong communication skills, both to develop and deliver training as well as collaborating across various levels of the organization is required
  • Position will require an ability to support work in industrial settings as needed, including ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
