Client is looking for an Engineering Technician on the Integration & Test (I&T) of Client Spacecraft. This role involves performing a variety of duties assisting engineers in mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, fabrication, testing, modification, and assembly of spacecraft and support equipment. This position will serve on-site at the Client Integration and Test Facility/ Gilbert, AZ.
Responsibilities:
Assembly & Fabrication to include the following areas:
• Perform mechanical assembly, wire harnessing, and soldering.
• Apply epoxy bonding and polymeric applications for spaceflight hardware.
• Utilize precision torque techniques for fastener installations.
• Equipment & Process Management:
• Maintain work areas in compliance with ESD, FOD, and 5S standards.
• Perform calibration and preventative maintenance of electronic equipment.
• Support discrepancy documentation and resolution.
• Utilize software tools such as Solumina MES, TipQA, Windchill, and CREO View.
Integration & Test Support to include the following areas:
• Lead test configuration setups.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), including test racks and desktop equipment.
• Assist in cable design and test configuration development.
• Navigate and execute test scripts in Maestro and AstroRT environments.
• Verify completion of testing events and associated documentation.
• Support critical/hazardous operations as needed.
Basic Qualifications for Engineering Technician - Integration and Test:
• High School Diploma (or technical training equivalent) and 2-4 years of related experience as a Mechanical or Manufacturing Technician, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Hands-on experience with aerospace equipment, harness build, and soldering.
• Knowledge of electrical measurements (AC/DC, resistance), voltage circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Understanding of clean room operations and spacecraft handling protocols.
• Ability to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks such as sanding or scrubbing over long periods of time.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shift schedules, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to wear and perform work in a N95 or higher quality respirator.
Preferred Qualifications for Engineering Technician - Integration and Test:
• Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.
• Working knowledge of standard design components: filters, couplers, splitters, amplifiers, etc.
• Familiarity with cryogenic test systems: dilution Refrigeration, 4 Kelvin cryo-coolers, Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigeration (ADR) and liquid helium emersion.
