The Clinical Nurse (CN) Flex provides Family-Centered Care as demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient's preferences, values, and needs. The Procedure Center at the Anschutz Campus is a 9 room unit that treats children and adolescents for a wide range of conditions. The unit supports 18 different surgical and medical specialties and performs more than 6,600 cases a year. We are a unique, yet impressive team comprised of bachelor's prepared nurses, certified surgical technicians, dental assistants, anesthesia technicians, anesthesia providers, advanced practice providers, physicians, and surgeons. The staff in the Procedure Center are proud to provide safe quality of care to our patients. We perform a wide variety of procedures including gastrointestinal procedures, dental procedures, burn procedures, eye procedures, gynecologic procedures, dermatologic procedures, neurology procedures, and many other types of procedures. Our nurses and surgical technologists receive extensive training and education in all procedures, promoting communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. We promote continued education and encourage staff to pursue certifications. Job Status: flex, not eligible for benefits
Shift: Varying days Monday through Friday, 8- or 10-hour shifts. Required to give at least 2 shifts of availability per pay period but may be asked to work more days based on unit needs.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Family-Centered Care: Recognize the patient or designee as the source of control and full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient's preferences, values, and needs.
  * Delivers patient and family centered care incorporating the nursing process while providing developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, evidence based care. Actively anticipates changes in patient outcomes/ unit needs in the provision of care.
  * Care is guided by the Professional Practice Model throughout the continuum of care.
  * Communicate and advocate patient values, preferences and expressed needs as part of implementation of care plan, evaluation of care and assessment of patient/family learning needs to the interdisciplinary team. Initiates and anticipates individualized care and education for patients/families across the continuum using an interdisciplinary approach.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
  * Applies communication practices that minimize risks across transitions of care.

  * Works within scope of practice and delegates according to Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
EXPERIENCE - One (1) year of nursing experience. Currently interviewing RNs with a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in ambulatory surgery, procedural sedation services, and/or the operating room.
EQUIVALENCY- Applicants with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and who agree to obtain a BSN within three (3) years from their start/hire date may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's Entry to Practice Nursing (MEPN) may substitute for a BSN.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S) - Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or RN license from multistate compact; BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least six (6) months left before expiration is required upon hire.

Salary Information
Hourly Rate of Pay: $48.04
