Job description

Evening Family Support Worker
Join the Open Door Mission's team of dedicated staff who are committed to full-time Christian ministry and breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty!
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Family Support Workers at Lydia House fill the important role of providing direct guest services and communication, including support of case managers and other staff. The Lydia House houses women and families in need of shelter, safety, recovery, and more. Family Support Workers have the opportunity to build direct relationships with these women and make a positive impact in their lives!
RESPONSIBILITIES
A full job description will be provided for review during the interview process.
  • Oversee the house - answer questions and meet needs of guests, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Perform intakes for new guests accurately and thoroughly.
  • Perform daily routine tasks including regular medication access to guests, supervision of mealtimes, and performing bed checks and chore checks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation on guests.
  • Exemplify Jesus Christ and share the gospel as opportunities arise.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • A visible relationship with Christ, regularly attending a Bible-believing church
  • The ability to share the gospel as opportunities arise.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license
  • Experience in human services or ministry

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE...
  • Experience working with women & families in crisis (eg. addiction recovery, mental health, domestic violence, homelessness).
  • Compassion to help those in need, as well as firmness in upholding important policies and standards.
  • A self-motivated and hard-working attitude.
  • Great communication skills with guests as well as fellow staff members.
