Unit Highlights

Key Responsibilities

Welcome to the Emergency Department at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center! The Emergency Department was completely renovated and expanded in 2021. There are 38 private treatment rooms, a dedicated behavioral health area, 8 flex chairs, and two large trauma rooms. Our Emergency Department sees over 48,000 patients per year. Gain great experience taking care of patients of all ages with various medical conditions! We are willing to train! Previous Emergency Department experience is not required.

Rotating Shift positions available.
*Nurses who do not have ED experience will take part in our Bridge Program for additional training. *

Qualifications

  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
  • Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
