Job Title: Travel Stepdown / Med-Surg Flex Registered Nurse (RN) - Weekend Position

Job Description: Join the dynamic nursing team at West Virginia University Hospitals (WVUH)! We are seeking an adaptable Stepdown / Med-Surg Flex RN for a 13-week travel assignment. This is a versatile 29-bed flex unit handling a diverse medical population ranging from general med-surg to stepdown-level care. If you are comfortable managing complex drips and flexing your skills across patient acuities, apply today!

Contract Details:

  • Target Start Date: 08/17/2026
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts (Dedicated weekend position).
  • Holiday Commitment: Expect to work approximately half of all WVUH recognized holidays.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Open to both newer and experienced travelers who can independently manage a 6-patient med-surg load or a 3-patient stepdown assignment.
  • Systems: Proficiency with EPIC charting is mandatory.
  • Skills: Competency in managing titratable drips (Heparin, insulin, antiarrhythmics, ketamine, and narcotic PCAs) and troubleshooting CPAP/BiPAP.
  • Certifications: Active BLS required.

Unit Highlights:

  • Monitoring Support: Remote telemetry surveillance and central Phillips monitors are utilized, so RNs do not interpret strips independently.
  • Dress Code: Royal blue and white scrubs required.
