Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ mental health status, which includes evaluating their emotional, behavioral, and social functioning to establish a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that are evidence-based, culturally competent, and tailored to each patient’s unique circumstances, enabling effective treatment paths for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
• Provide consistent psychotherapy and support to patients, helping them address and overcome their mental health challenges while offering coping strategies and therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and addiction specialists, to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
• Monitor and document patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on feedback from both patients and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources, fostering empowerment and informed decision-making regarding their care.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards of practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and obtaining informed consent for all therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve individuals dealing with substance use disorders and associated mental health issues. This demographic often faces complex challenges, and your role is critical in guiding them towards recovery and stability. Understanding the unique dynamics of this patient population, including their social determinants of health, will be key to providing effective support.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
• A minimum of two years of experience providing psychotherapy or mental health services to individuals with various mental health conditions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting patient assessments and creating evidence-based treatment plans that reflect best practices in the field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with patients and collaborating effectively with the broader healthcare team.
• Proficient in using electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare management software to maintain accurate patient documentation.
• A solid understanding of mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and the challenges confronted by patients in recovery settings.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in detox or addiction treatment settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with group therapy techniques and facilitating therapeutic groups.
• Knowledge of community resources specific to Massachusetts that can assist patients in their recovery journey.

Compensation and Benefits
